Our Pledge to Grow a "Healthy Neighborhood" Shared values for human progress and community revival

We are proud to honor individuals and businesses that embody the spirit of community and uphold the Healthy Neighborhood philosophy and values. These values include a steadfast commitment to restoring human health and fostering a happier, more equitable society—a world where we love our neighbors and live by “The Golden Rule.”
To celebrate those who champion human progress and community revival, we offer a dedicated page on www.HealthyNeighborhood.com to promote their efforts. These Healthy Neighborhood Business Builders include individual entrepreneurs, practitioners, businesses, mission partners, and various organizations.
In addition, we recognize organizations that have consistently demonstrated outstanding contributions to improving people’s lives. The Healthy Neighborhood Mission Partner Excellence Award will be publicly presented to the awardee, accompanied by a certificate and a healthy gift. We will also promote the organization on our website and across our social media platforms.

Working together as a Community or Neighborhood, individuals and enterprises  can help to restore human health and a happier and more equitable society. We believe that we can create this “Healthy Neighborhood” by loving our neighbors and living “The Golden Rule.” (Doing unto all others as we would have them do unto us.) And we must respect and nurture our Mother Earth. It is our source of food, air and water. It is our home.

  • Reducing pollution and energy use in our homes
  • Removing poisons from our land, waters and the air around us.
  • Reusing, re-purposing and recycling
  • Planting trees and gardens and conserving water
  • Purchasing locally grown, unprocessed food and drink
  • Patronizing local businesses such as tailors, snack and soap makers, local fruit
and vegetable growers, auto taxis, coaches, crafters, etc.
  •  Focusing on simplicity, healthy food and lifestyle choices vs embracing
    consumerism driven by corporate advertising
  • Focusing on healthy, nutritional food choices
  • Engaging in regular exercise
  • Creating a community of caring and sharing to help others become healthier
    and more productive
  •  Feeding our mind with healthy thought and moderating consumption of
    negative, untrue and sensational media
  • Fostering a culture of life long learning
  • Forming citizens groups that hold our representatives accountable, using RTI
requests, media and other resources to effect positive change
  • Believing in the intrinsic value of each individual
  • Instilling timeless core values and social skills in our youth
  •  Providing a “hand up” vs a “hand out” to our community members
